The Somaliland Nurses and Midwives Association (SLNMA) today launched a three-day introductory workshop on the revised Somaliland National Midwifery Curriculum.
The workshop is being organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Development of Somaliland, the Government of Canada, CARE, and CAM ACSF. Its primary objective is to introduce the newly revised midwifery curriculum and enhance the quality of midwifery education as well as maternal and newborn healthcare services.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health Development of Somaliland, representatives from universities across the country, health training institutions, the Somaliland Health Professionals Association, and other stakeholders involved in strengthening health education and healthcare services.
Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of revising the midwifery curriculum, noting that the initiative will improve the quality of health education and contribute to producing highly skilled and competent midwives capable of meeting the healthcare needs of the community.
The Somaliland Nurses and Midwives Association (SLNMA) reaffirmed its commitment to continuing efforts aimed at strengthening the professional capacity of midwives and improving the quality of healthcare services throughout Somaliland.
